How to Cook the Patties and Make the Sauce

  • Pre-heat your grill to medium heat.
  • Form the ground beef into dimpled patties about a half inch thick. These patties form the juicy, flavorful base of your Detroit Lions Burgers.
  • Season patties on both sides with salt and pepper.
  • Add olive oil or butter to a pan over medium heat, and then add a small amount of flour.
  • Keep on the lowest heat for about 5 minutes.
  • Gradually add milk to the flour, stirring continuously.
  • Bring to a boil for 3-4 minutes.
  • Place the mixture on the lowest heat setting.
  • Add the patties to your preheated grill and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side.

Assemble the Detroit Lions Burgers

  • Remove the patty from the grill and let it rest for 2-3 minutes.
  • Get the sauce to the desired consistency.
  • Season the sauce with salt and pepper.
  • Add the blue cheese to the sauce and whisk until smooth and creamy.
  • Place the Detroit Lions Burgers on a bun.
  • Add sauce to the top of the burgers.
  • Top with potato chips, additional sauce, and any other desired toppings.
  • Add the top bun and cut the sandwich in half.
